Aakash 2 UbiSlate 7+ Datawind price features

After getting huge response of aakash tablet pc Government of India and Datawind announced its upgraded version Aakash 2. The Aakash 2 tablet UbiSlate 7+  will be launched by the end of January, 2012 while retaining its original price point of Rs. 2,250.

The new tablet will basically be Datawind’s Aakash 2 tablet UbiSlate 7+ tablet, which was akin to Aakash in many ways but featured a few upgrades, including:

  • Cortex A8, 700 Mhz Process with HD Video Co Processor
  • 256 MB RAM
  • Storage: (Internal) 2GB Flash / (External) 2GB to 32GB Supported
  • Peripherals: 2 Standard USB Ports (Ver. 2.0)
  • Audio Out: 3.5mm jack
  • Display and Resolution: 7″ Display with 800×480 pixels
  • Supported Document Formats: All Version Office Document formats and many more
  • High Quality Video Streaming & HD Quality Video Playback
  • Input Devices: Resistive Touch Screen
  • Connectivity with GPRS & WiFi IEEE 802.11 a/b/g
  • Battery: Upto 180 minutes of battery, AC adaptor 200.240 volts

    There can be many opinions about Aakash tablet , but it is worth remembering that ,

     At its price-point , Aakash is the only tablet capable of bridging the digital divide between the urban and the rural India

     It will be used by persons who have not even seen a smart phone or a computer – much less used these

     Aakash is its own benchmark. Much like Walkman and iPod , it has created a new category – hence there can be no comparisons

     More than 2 million orders are a proof that , it is a product which millions have been waiting for

    No doubt there will be some initial hiccups – as with any innovation
